FLUIDITY

Borrowing from the idea of René Magritte’s ceci n’est pas une pipe, this series takes what people see on the surface and urges them to look closer. Gender is something many believe to be biologically unshakeable and the series shows that there is always more to it if you take a second look. The work displays gender as a constraint we are boxed into and bound with from the moment we are born onwards. Societal constructs such as gender are meant to be played around with and experimentation is encouraged. Rethink what it means to be un garcon ou une fille, because gender is a fluid and ever-changing concept.
